A man who walked away from a Wichita work release facility has been recaptured.
Kansas corrections officials said 43-year-old Elvin Eugene Morris was taken into custody Friday by officials from the Department of Corrections Enforcement, Apprehensions and Investigations Unit. He was booked into the Sedgwick County jail.
Morris, a minimum-custody resident, was placed on escape status on October 2nd after he left the Wichita Work Release Facility on a community pass and did not return. The investigation is continuing and no other details have been released.
