By the Associated Press and KFDI News:
The husband and nephew of cookbook author Ree Drummond have been injured in a head-on collision involving fire trucks in northern Oklahoma.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the two fire trucks crashed Wednesday afternoon while responding to a fire spreading toward the Drummond family ranch near Pawhuska.
Authorities say Drummond’s husband, Ladd, initially refused medical treatment at the scene but was later life-flighted by helicopter. The nephew was taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition with head, arm, leg, and internal injuries.
Ree Drummond issued a statement on Facebook:
I want to thank you all for your prayers for our family. Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they will both be okay. As a family we are giving thanks today, knowing things could have been much worse. Thank you all for your love and kindness. It means a lot.
