Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors an Army Veteran named Michelle. Michelle spent 7 years in the Army, after which adjusting back to civilian life was hard as she battled PTSD. Michelle said, “For me, it’s like climbing Mount Everest every time I leave my house,” Things we take for granted like going to the grocery store or shopping, Michelle can’t do. Now, thanks to a group named Service Dogs of Virginia (SDV) that is all changing. The organization trains puppies and then places them with those in need when the dogs are about 2 years old. Michelle has been paired with a lab named “Dottie” and Michelle is hoping “Dottie” will help her return to a normal life again. Good luck Michelle and THANK YOU for your service.
