Charges filed in Wichita homicide

A Wichita man has been charged with first degree murder and other counts in connection with a body that was found in a car in early July.

35-year-old Matthew Small appeared in Sedgwick County district court Tuesday to hear charges against him.   He is accused in the death of 47-year-old Roy Hayden, whose body was found on July 6th in a car in the 1500 block of North Broadway.  Police determined that Hayden was actually killed in the 800 block of South San Pablo, which is near Lincoln and Woodlawn.   The murder happened sometime between July 1st and July 6th.

Small is also charged with aggravated kidnapping and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.   His bond was set at $250,000.
