Two people from Missouri were killed when the car they were riding in collided with a semi in Pratt County early Monday morning.
The crash was reported around 4:30 a.m. on Highway 54 just east of Pratt. A car collided with a semi that was hauling grain, and two passengers in the car were killed. The driver of the car was taken to a hospital. Troopers said the car was trying to pass two semis in a no-passing zone when it collided with an eastbound semi.
The victims were identified as 60-year-old Elizabeth Jean Glenn and 16-year-old Jayden Marie Swavely, both of St. Louis. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, 42-year-old Jamie Swavely of St. Louis, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The crash closed Highway 54 for several hours.
