Luke Combs is having no trouble churning out #1 singles. “Does To Me” with Eric Church went #1 a couple weeks ago, making it his 8th consecutive #1.
That makes him the first country artist to have his first 8 singles go #1.
What he his having some trouble with is getting married. It’s not for lack of “want to”. Covid-19 had really screwed things up for Luke and fiance Nicole Hocking and any other couple that had 2020 wedding plans. While Luke says he wants to get married this year, it’s kind of wait and see at this point.
“We obviously hope that it happens,” says Luke. “Obviously, things are day to day, and that decision ultimately is not really up to us. I guess it depends on regulations and the way all this stuff shakes out. So I don’t know. We’ll see. Obviously, we would both love to [have the wedding], and hope that that happens sooner rather than later. But also, we want to be safe for our grandparents and different folks like that. There’s not much we can do about it but plan ahead.
“We definitely considered [a very small wedding], but my fiancée has put so much planning into this thing. I think we’re pretty set on what we’re gonna do and whenever that is, I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”
As far as the wedding plans, what is Luke’s role? He has officially called himself the “Good Time Engineer” (I need a shirt and hat that says that). He says he’ll be in charge of the booze and the playlist.
