Today, the AWESOME is found in Woodford County, Kentucky. You’ve seen the pictures; maybe you know someone personally affected by the flooding in Kentucky and the surrounding states. It’s devastating to see, and the stories of loss are hard to listen to. However, from all of this, AWESOME stories are found, time and time again. Kody Smith, a Clifton resident, spent his Sunday navigating floodwaters to save dogs, cats, and even kittens stranded by the rising water. With flood levels reaching rooftops and windows, Smith didn’t hesitate when he saw the need. He simply grabbed a boat and did what he could do to help, with the help of his friend, sometimes arriving just in time to rescue the animals before they were swept away. Helping friends, neighbors, and strangers in their worst moments, THAT’S AWESOME.
