Today, the Awesome comes from all over Alabama. 10-year-old Hunter has autism, and when he picked out a pair of glasses with colorful rainbow frames, a bully mocked him and told Hunter he should end his life. The remark triggered the boy who tried to do just that. After the incident, Hunter spent 2 weeks in the psychiatric ward. To make him feel better, his Mom shared the story on social media about her son, who has a deep passion for anything with wheels, and asked for a few people to show up with cars to make him smile. The response was nothing short of extraordinary. Sergio Sanchez, a local Mexican restaurant owner, saw the post and contacted car clubs across Alabama. The message spread like wildfire, and over 1500 show cars rolled into town. Now Hunter has 1500 new friends who proved the bully didn’t win, and rainbow-colored glasses are cool, and THAT’S AWESOME.
