The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said two people were arrested after a search warrant led to the discovery of a number of guns, drugs, and a number of abused animals.
The search warrant was executed at a home in Macksville on Friday, March 28th. Officers recovered firearms, ammunition, explosives, crossbows, methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and electronic devices. They also found 17 dogs, 3 pigs, 2 pythons, and a salamander inside the home.
A 47-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested and booked into the Barton County jail on charges including drug possession, identity theft, child endangerment, and animal abuse.
Stafford County deputies were assisted by police from Macksville, St. John, Stafford, the Stafford K9 Unit, Kansas Highway Patrol, KHP K9 Unit, Kansas Wildlife & Parks and the Stafford County Communications Tactical Unit.
