Two people were injured after separate fires Thursday afternoon in southeast Wichita.
An unidentified person had possible serious injuries after a house fire, reported around 3 p.m. in the 14,600 block of Willowbend Court, in a neighborhood near Harry and 143rd Street East. Flames were coming from the garage of a two-story home when crews arrived. One person was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Another fire was reported in a four-plex structure around 4:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of East Lincoln. Smoke was seen coming from the building when crews arrived, and they had the fire under control within an hour. EMS was sent to the scene for one person with possible serious injuries.
