A Sedgwick County jury has returned a guilty verdict for a Wichita man in a fatal shooting that happened a little over a year ago at an apartment complex.

A trial was held this week for 26-year-old K’veion Richard, and he was found guilty of first degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm and one count of criminal threat.

Police said an argument led to the shooting on February 20th, 2024 at the Sugar Creek Apartments in the 2500 block of South Oliver.   Shots were fired into an apartment, resulting in the death of one-year-old Taidyn Anderson and injuries to two 24-year-old women.

A second suspect, 22-year-old Jonathan Tillery-Matthias is scheduled in May and a third suspect, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, is scheduled for a hearing later this month to be tried as an adult.
