A Wichita man has been sentenced to almost 40 years in prison for the stabbing death of a woman in 2023.
A sentence of 442 months was given to 36-year-old Antonio Jones on a second degree murder charge and another 59 months for aggravated robbery. He pleaded guilty to the charges in December. A Sedgwick County judge also ordered 36 months of post-release supervision and restitution of more than $5,700 to the Kansas Crime Victims Compensation Board.
Jones was arrested after the October, 2023 stabbing death of 66-year-old Brenda McNeely at a home in the 2300 block of North Chautauqua. Police said Jones and McNeely were involved in a disturbance.
