Today, the AWESOME is in San Antonio, Texas. Recently, 85 cancer patients were treated to a transformation. Thanks to a heartwarming partnership between Texas Oncology and the nonprofit Angeles Sin Fronteras (Angels Without Borders), these women received makeovers and fresh hair, which renewed their confidence and joy. “I’m feeling wonderful; I feel very pampered,” said Leticia Heriford, one of the recipients. “I think I have some life in me after a very long time.” Angels Without Borders, founded by cancer survivor Tere Castello, collects donated wigs and makeup kits to give to cancer patients, ensuring that beauty and dignity remain part of their journey. The organization distributes around 500 wigs every year, helping women feel like themselves again despite the hardships of treatment.
