Today, we salute Veteran Kim Hubers. Staff Sergeant Kim Hubers joined the South Dakota National Guard at the age of 19 and served proudly for 14 years until injuries forced her to retire. Her desire to serve continued after the guard, working with the non-profit Disabled American Veterans. She is the DAV Sioux Falls chapter and state Commander and sits on the board of directors at a national level. In 2023, she was honored as the 2023 Disabled Veteran of the Year by the DAV. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, she was deployed to help with clean up. All of this and more led to a great surprise the other day when she was told she was going back to New Orleans to attend Super Bowl 59 by Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson. He made the announcement on X, saying:
She’s my #1 supporter & to say thanks, I’ve teamed up with DAV to send her to Super Bowl LIX.
Congratulations, and enjoy this trip of a lifetime, Kim and THANK YOU for your service.
