Today, it’s off to the UK for the AWESOME. 88-year-old Len Webb can often be found with a chisel in hand, working hard on his creations. Having previously worked in set design, Webb has volunteered for the organization Living Paintings for over 20 years. Living Paintings takes the two-dimensional art in picture books and puts it in a form that blind and visually impaired readers can enjoy because, as the CEO of Living Paintings says, “books should be for everybody.” One of their current projects is working on a book for a mother who lost her son to neuroblastoma, which can cause blindness. It was her son’s favorite book and she wants other kids to be able to enjoy it. Creating a world where previously there wasn’t one, all for a good cause, THAT’S AWESOME.
