The National Weather Service is starting its annual series of presentations across south central and southeast Kansas to get storm spotters ready for the next severe weather season.

The “Storm Fury on the Plains” presentations begin Tuesday evening with an event at the Labette County High School in Altamont.

The Wichita presentation will be held Monday, March 24th at 6:30 p.m. at the Northwest High School Auditorium.

Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 3rd-7th. The statewide tornado test drill for Kansas will be on Wednesday, March 5th at 10 a.m.

Sedgwick County Emergency Management will have the same program at locations across the county, starting Monday, February 24th at the Valley Center Community Center.  The full schedule can be found on the Emergency Management Page on the county’s web site:
