The victims have been identified from Wednesday’s crash involving a passenger flight from Wichita.  The crash killed 64 people on the flight and three soldiers on an Army helicopter that collided with the plane.

A civil rights attorney and former Miss Kansas contestant, 30-year-old Kiah Duggans, was identified as one of the passengers of American Airlines Flight 5342.  The Wichita native was returning to Washington after spending time with family in Wichita.

Wichita native Grace Maxwell, 20, was also on the flight.  She was a student at Cedarville University in Ohio, where she was a junior majoring in mechanical engineering.

Lindsay Fields, 40, of Wichita, a biology teacher at Butler Community College.

Kiowa County, Kansas farmers Bob and Lori Schrock were also passengers.

Also identified were the pilot of Flight 5342, Jonathan Campos, first officer Sam Lilley, and flight attendants Danasia Elder and Ian Epstein.  They were based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Two of the three soldiers on the helicopter were identified as Staff Sgt. Ryan Austin O’Hara, 28, of Lilburn, Georgia, and  Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Loyd Eaves, 39, of Great Mills, Maryland.  The name of the third soldier was not released at the request of family.

Seven friends from the Washington, D.C. area were on a hunting trip to Kansas, and they were returning home on the flight.

The victims also included 14 members of the U.S. Figure Skating community who took part in the Figure Skating Championships last week and a development camp that was held later.

More than 40 sets of remains have been recovered from the Potomac River.   DC Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly said at a Friday news conference that 28 victims have been positively identified. He added that as of Friday morning, next-of-kin notifications have gone out to 18 families.
