The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed a north Wichita intersection for about two months.
KDOT closed the intersection of 29th Street North and Hydraulic Avenue on Wednesday, and the closure also includes the 29th Street North ramp to southbound I-135.
The closure is necessary for girder installation operations over 29th Street North and Hydraulic Avenue. The work is anticipated to take approximately 60 days to complete, weather permitting.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured. Motorists needing access to southbound I-135 can travel north on Ohio Street, east on 37th Street, and south on Hillside Avenue to westbound K-96, where they can continue to southbound I-135. Drivers should plan for extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
