Seven San Antonio, Texas police officers are injured after being shot while attempting to contact a barricaded suspect Wednesday night.
Police Chief William McManus said the officers were responding to a call of a potential “suicide in progress” when they arrived at an apartment complex in north San Antonio. The first four were shot as they approached the unit, leaving them with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The chief did not disclose the condition of the other three.
The suspect was found dead from a gunshot wound after the hours-long standoff but it has not yet been determined if it was self-inflicted. The suspect’s name has not been released.
