Today, we salute Air Force Veteran Dale Redding. A Kansas Native, Dale joined the Air Force in 1959, shortly after he completed the ROTC program at WSU. A case of vertigo grounded his chances of flying, but there was still plenty to do when he became a transportation officer. Dale handled everything from trucking, maintenance, personnel, and logistics. In Vietnam, Dale loaded and unloaded C-130 aircraft in combat zones, relying heavily on his training during his time there, which included the Tet Offensive in 1968. After returning to the States, Dale went on to manage hundreds of employees at multiple airports, eventually retiring from the Air Force with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He now happily calls the Wichita area home. Thank you for sharing your story, Dale, and THANK YOU for your service.
