An unidentified person died at a hospital after being taken from the scene of an apartment fire Tuesday afternoon in east Wichita.
The fire broke out around 2 p.m. at the Sandstone Apartments in the 4800 block of East Eastwood, near Kellogg and Oliver. Smoke and flames were coming from the building when crews arrived, but they got the fire out in a short time.
The victim has not been identified and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
