Officials with the Wichita Wind Surge baseball team have announced a new name for Riverfront Stadium.
The team and its owner, Diamond Baseball Holdings, have announced a long-term naming rights partnership with Wichita-based Equity bank. As a result, the stadium will now be known as Equity Bank Park.
The Wichita City Council voted Tuesday to make changes in an agreement with the team to allow for the naming rights. The team and the city will share the revenue from the naming rights and the city will get $117,500 in the first year, with an additional three percent in each of the following years.
In addition to the ballpark’s naming rights, Equity Bank becomes the Official Bank of the Wichita Wind Surge with additional sponsorship and marketing elements. The team said this partnership will bring new sponsorship and marketing initiatives that will elevate the fan experience. Equity Bank will have signage throughout the ballpark and Equity Bank will have several promotions and giveaways for the fans.
The Wind Surge open the 2025 season in Springfield on April 4th and the home opener is April 8th at Equity Bank Park against the Midland RockHounds. Season tickets and mini-plans are on sale now along with the home opener individual game tickets go on sale on January 28th.
