The Wichita Ethics Board has issued its final decision on the complaint filed last fall against Mayor Lily Wu.
The complaint was filed in October by International Association of Firefighters Local 135 president Ted Bush, regarding a conversation between the mayor and Fire Chief Tammy Snow in which the mayor was alleged to have ordered the layoffs of 42 employees. Mayor Wu denied the allegation.
The Ethics Board ruled in December that no ethics violation had taken place, and there were conflicting reports about the conversation between the mayor and fire chief. The board was asked to review the case by the Mayor and the union. The board met Wednesday and completed a final report that confirmed its conclusion in December.
