The Wichita Police Department said Detective Stewart Blurton died suddenly on Tuesday after suffering a medical emergency at home.
Blurton had served with the Patrol division, in the Mounted Division, and as a Domestic Violence Detective in the Investigations Division. The department said he dedicated himself to serving the community with compassion, and “he did so with distinction and honor.”
Funeral services are pending.
