Police had three people in custody and were looking for two others after a robbery in south Wichita led to a standoff at a west side home early Sunday.

A robbery was reported around 1 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of South Ellis.  Two people told officers that five people walked inside with handguns and shotguns and forced them into a bedroom.  The two victims were tied up while the five intruders began taking items from the home.

Police said the victims were familiar with the suspects and they tracked a stolen phone to a home connected to one of the suspects in the 13,600 block of West Nantucket.  Officers went to the home but the suspects refused to come out, and a SWAT team was called to the scene along with negotiators.

One suspect left the home and was taken into custody, and when police searched the home they found two other suspects hiding in the attic.  Police are still looking for two other suspects.  Anyone with information is urged to call investigators at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
