A Wichita man has been sentenced to almost seven years in prison for a shooting that injured 11 people at an Old Town club last year.

A sentence of 82 months was given Friday to 25-year-old Jaylen Thomas, along with three years of post-release supervision.   Thomas had pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

Prosecutors said Thomas fired shots into the City Nightz club in July, 2023.    Nine people were injured by gunfire and two were trampled as club patrons tried to escape.

Two other men were charged in the shooting.  Ameir King-Ingram was sentenced earlier this year to 53 months in prison.  John Houze is scheduled for a jury trial on January 29th.

The club closed about a month after the shooting.
