The House has passed a funding bill, which will avert a possible government shutdown just hours before the deadline. Speaker Mike Johnson got the required two-thirds majority with nearly 400 “yea” votes and just over 30 “nay” votes.

The bill will keep the government running at least through March, and contains funding for disaster relief and a farm bill extension. Johnson spoke to reporters after the vote, saying he’s pleased to pass what he called “America first” legislation, and encouraged swift passage in the Senate.

The White House has released a statement saying President Biden approves of the plan.
