The Wichita Police Department will be hosting its annual Holiday Feast on Sunday.  The afternoon event brings together officers, community members and local families to celebrate the holiday spirit.

Police officers and community members chose the families for this year’s event, and the department said they were not chosen because they sought assistance but because officers and citizens recognized the positive impact this would have on those families.

Sergeant Kenneth Kimble and Shawn Brand of Wichita Dent Company started the Holiday Feast to help families with financial difficulties who are working to recover from challenges.

The event includes gifts purchased by police officers and community members, and take-home meals will be provided by Pig in Pig Out BBQ.
