Kansas corrections officials are looking into the death of an inmate at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
The inmate, 33-year-old Chancellor Copenhaver, was found unresponsive in his cell Wednesday morning. Staff began life-saving measures but they were unsuccessful. An autopsy has been ordered and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation will work with corrections officials on an investigation.
Copenhaver was serving a 121-month sentence for convictions of attempted second-degree murder, attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, and stalking in Riley County.
