A Louisiana man was killed in a crash late Sunday night on Interstate 135 in Newton.
The crash was reported around 9:15 p.m. on I-135 at 1st Street. The Kansas Highway Patrol said a southbound pickup went off the road, crashed through a guardrail and ended up on train tracks below the interstate.
The driver, 21-year-old James Rundzieher of Rayville, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic was blocked on both directions on the interstate for several hours after the crash.
