An unidentified man was in critical condition after being shot by police during a confrontation at a north side intersection late Friday night.
Police said there was a report of an assault near 13th and Broadway around 9 p.m., and a man came out of a home firing shots. At least one person and a dog were hit by the gunfire. The man fired shots at officers near 12th and Broadway, and two officers returned fire, hitting him.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has been asked to investigate the shooting.
An unidentified man was found dead later in Prospect Park, which is near 13th and Broadway. He had been shot and police have been working to determine if he was hit by the gunfire from the earlier incident.
