Wichita man gets life for kidnapping, child sex crimes

sedgwick-court

A Wichita man has been sentenced to life in prison for a number of crimes including kidnapping, indecent liberties with a child, and sexual exploitation of a child.

A jury convicted 37-year-old David Roark of 18 counts, and he was given a sentence of life plus 122 months.  He will be eligible for parole after 35 years.

Roark was arrested in December, 2022 after officials from White County, Arkansas contacted Wichita police about a missing 14-year-old girl.   Wichita detectives found Roark at a home in the 1800 block of North Litchfield and they found the missing girl in a closet.   She was returned to her family.
