President-elect Trump is naming former ICE director Tom Homan as his “border czar.” On Truth Social late Sunday, Trump announced Homan will be joining his administration and will be in charge of the nation’s borders.

Earlier this year, Homan promised to “run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen” if Trump got elected. The border was one of the top issues Trump addressed while campaigning. Polls also found immigration to be one of voters’ biggest concerns this election.

Donald Trump’s campaign is starting to announce who will be in the President-inaugural committee. Trump says the committee will “honor” his victory in the 2024 election. Former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler, who supported a lawsuit to overturn the 2020 election results, will co-chair the committee. Trump has also pegged longtime senior advisor Susie Wilkes to serve as his chief of staff. His team has confirmed he will not be inviting Nikki Haley or Mike Pompeo back to his second administration.

Meanwhile, Trump’s transition team is reportedly vetting possible cabinet picks. Susie Wiles was announced on Friday as his White House chief of staff. The New Jersey native and Florida resident will become the first woman to hold that post. Wiles was Trump’s campaign senior adviser and ran his campaigns in Florida in both 2016 and 2020.
