Police said a 69-year-old man died after being run over by his own vehicle during an incident Wednesday morning in east Wichita.
The crash was reported around 10:15 a.m. in the 3100 block of East Douglas, just west of Hillside, and crews reported a car that had crashed into a fence. Police said a man apparently was involved in an attempted theft from a business, and he was dragged and then run over by his car as he tried to get away.
The man was taken to a hospital and died a short time later. Police are still investigating.
