Showers and thunderstorms moved across central and eastern Kansas on Saturday, bringing some much-needed rainfall to ease drought conditions.

Rainfall amounts as of Sunday afternoon were ranging from 1 to 5 inches, with more rain falling in the afternoon and another round expected Sunday night into Monday.

Cheney reported 4.44 inches of rain, Towanda had 5.16 inches, Valley Center had 5.03 inches, 4 inches was reported in Goddard, with 3.96 in northwest Wichita, Andover had 4.60 inches.

Flood warnings were issued for Sedgwick County and several other counties for several hours Saturday morning.   A flood watch is in effect through Monday evening for Sedgwick, Harper, Kingman, Harvey, Sumner, Butler, Cowley, Marion and Chase counties, and the watch area extends into southeastern Kansas.
