Police are investigating a shooting in south Wichita that sent a man to a hospital Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of South Hydraulic around 6:15 p.m., and they found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and his injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
A 24-year-old suspect ran from the scene and tried to carjack a vehicle in the 2100 block of South Pattie, but officers caught up with him and took him into custody. The man was booked into jail for attempted murder, attempted carjacking, and other charges.
