An unidentified woman has died after an accident Saturday afternoon at Cook Airfield east of Derby.
Officials said the woman was taking photos at the Air Capital Drop Zone on the airfield at 143rd Street East and Meadowlark, when she backed into a moving propeller on an aircraft. The accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was taken to a hospital in very critical condition, but she died a short time later.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
