A Wichita man has been sentenced to almost 27 years in prison for a road rage shooting incident that killed a woman at an east side intersection.

A sentencing hearing was held Thursday for 20-year-old Daryon Boone, who had pleaded guilty to second degree murder and attempted first degree murder.

Prosecutors said a pickup approached a group of motorcycle riders at Kellogg and Greenwich Road in September, 2023.  Boone’s motorcycle collided with the pickup, and the group chased the pickup north to Central.  Boone fired two shots at the truck, killing a passenger, 69-year-old Norma Williams.

During the sentencing, Boone expressed regret to the Williams family.  He was given 166 months on the second degree murder count and 155 months for the attempted first degree murder count, and the sentences will be served consecutively.
