Today, we salute Army Veteran Sgt. Mike Fletcher. Mike and his explosives detection K9 Dasty were inseparable. They served 4 years together, which included a 10-month deployment in a combat zone in Afghanistan. It was a bond that was sadly broken when Mike left the army; Dasty stayed. That’s when a nonprofit called American Humane helped fly Dasty to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to live with Mike and his family full time.“Dasty will be around long enough that my son can remember him. Remember that that’s the dog that kept him safe,” Fletcher said. Enjoy many happy years with Dasty Mike, and THANK YOU both for your service.
