Today, the Awesome comes from Palm Beach, Florida. Florida has been hit hard over the last few weeks by hurricanes Helene and Milton. The recovery will be slow, but recently, one animal shelter was emptied out quickly. Palm Beach Animal Care and Control was already at capacity with 200 dogs and cats, but they knew they needed to make room for emergency intakes from the storm, so they put a plea out on social media. The community answered the call and in two days, 113 cats and 117 dogs were adopted out, effectively emptying the shelter. Giving animals in need a forever home THAT’S AWESOME.
