Today’s AWESOME comes from Richmond, Virginia. Earl Bottoms, better known as Skip, inspires all who meet him. The humble 88-year-old who relies on a cane and struggles with hearing recently received the “Acts of Kindness” Award in his home state for many reasons. How about over 700 hours of volunteer work? During COVID-19, he would sit with hospital patients to comfort them; he volunteers three days a week at that hospital, also drives for “Meals on Wheels,” and rescues animals from high-risk shelters, driving them north to safer sanctuaries where they can find new homes. Giving abundantly of your time and being an example of kindness, Skip, THAT’S AWESOME.
