A man who touched off an AMBER Alert earlier this month has appeared in court on a number of charges related to the abduction of his five-year-old son.

The charges against 30-year-old Trevawn Strong include abuse of a child, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of aggravated endangering a child, three counts of criminal threat, and misdemeanor counts of domestic battery, criminal restraint, and criminal damage to property.

Strong is free on a bond of $250,000 and his next court appearance was scheduled for October 7th.  He is required to have electronic monitoring and pre-trial services.

Strong was arrested after a September 11th incident where his five-year-old son was taken from his home, and the boy’s mother was stabbed.  An AMBER Alert was issued and police arrested Strong later in the evening, and the boy was found safe.
