A Bel Aire man has been charged in connection with a house fire that killed his father.
A hearing was held Wednesday for 41-year-old Joshua Gentry on charges of aggravated arson and involuntary manslaughter. His bond was set at $250,000 and his next court appearance was scheduled for September 9th.
Sedgwick County firefighters were called to a home in the 5900 block of East Flagstaff around 2 a.m. Sunday. They found Joshua Gentry outside with minor burns, and 67-year-old Timothy Gentry was inside the house. Crews got him out and he died later at a hospital.
The house was considered a total loss after the fire.
