While Wichita’s plan to implement paid parking downtown is on hold, informational meetings will continue this week to get input from the public.

Business owners met with city leaders Monday at Norton’s Brewing Company in Old Town, and they raised concerns about adding costs that will hurt customers and employees.

Mayor Lily Wu said during Tuesday’s City Council meeting that the plan is on hold and the Council will receive an update at their September 10th meeting.  She said no action is planned for that meeting.

An informational meeting was held Wednesday at Envision at 610 North Main.  This was a presentation for the city’s Access Advisory Board and no questions will be taken from the public.

Another informational meeting will be Thursday, August 29th at 5:30 p.m. at the Kansas Leadership Center at 325 East Douglas.  The Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Wichita have organized this forum for businesses and organizations in the Delano, downtown and Old Town districts.
