A Wichita woman has been sentenced for the shooting death of her son after a standoff earlier this year at a west side apartment.
A guilty plea was entered in June by 43-year-old Kylee Reynolds-Hodges to a charge of first degree murder for the shooting death of 14-year-old Claude Hodges, Jr. On Tuesday, a Sedgwick County judge sentenced her to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years. Reynolds-Hodges waived her right to be present for the sentencing hearing.
Police found Claude Hodges, Jr. dead in a bedroom after an hours-long standoff that began the evening of January 28th and ended early the next day at the Aspen Park apartment complex at 8405 West Central. Kylee Reynolds-Hodges was shot by officers when she pointed a gun at them as she was walking out of the apartment.
