A crash involving two semi tractor trailers caused the closure of westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Saline County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said two semis were traveling west when one struck the other from behind around 10:30 Monday morning west of Salina.
A 46-year-old Ellsworth man was pinned in his cab after the crash, and he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi that was hit was not injured.
The crash closed westbound I-70 for several hours.
