Police say a 15-year-old boy died of his injuries after being hit by a pickup in a southwest Wichita neighborhood.
Emergency crews were called to 44th Street South and Hoover Road around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Police said Daniel Collier of Wichita was riding his bicycle when he was hit. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
Police said the driver, a 35-year-old Wichita woman, remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation. Investigators are continuing to look into the collision. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Accident Follow-Up Unit at 316-350-3690.
This is the city’s 17th traffic death of 2024.
