AGCO Hesston has announced plans to move some of its production to Mexico.

The company made the announcement Wednesday, saying “Production of small square balers, round balers and rotary mowers will move to its Querétaro, Mexico, facility beginning in 2025. By streamlining the Hesston portfolio, our goal is to secure a profitable future for the plant. AGCO expects the impact of this change on the overall workforce in Hesston to be accomplished through typical attrition.”

The Hesston facility will “continue to manufacture Massey Ferguson windrowers, large square balers, combines and combine headers using the more than $28 million in investments made in the Kansas facility since 2021. Those investments have focused on updating and modernizing Hesston’s systems and equipment.”

AGCO officials said the move is not expected to result in layoffs at the Hesston plant.
