The “Bluegrass State” is home to the Awesome today. Toby is a 2-year-old basset hound that had to be rehomed and found himself in an animal shelter while awaiting his new home.  Turns out his new home would come with a special purpose. Daniel Pitino Shelter, is a homeless shelter who’s residents had no idea what was coming their way.  Harry Pedigro, the Executive Director of the homeless shelter had owned basset hounds all his life so imagine his feelings of “meant to be” when he saw Toby’s picture on Facebook.  Without hesitation, a plan was hatched, Toby was adopted and he is now the newest resident of the homeless shelter, bring it’s residents emotional support, comfort and joy. An adopted dog bringing light to a home for people looking for a home…..THAT’S AWESOME.
