2. Through a partnership between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Wichita Park & Recreation, and the National Fitness Campaign, north Wichita is getting an outdoor Fitness Court. The Fitness Court will be at Pat Garcia Veterans Memorial Park, 2640 N. 3. The second Boeing whistleblower in a month has died suddenly. John “Mitch” Barnett was found dead in March from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Now, 45-year-old Joshua Dean has died of a sudden illness which surprised friends and family who said he was in good physical health.

4. Saturday is the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. The oldest continuous sporting event in America, the “run for the roses” features 3-year-old thoroughbred horses born in the Northern Hemisphere racing a 1.25-mile track. There is a record purse this year of $5M—$2M more than last year—with tomorrow’s winner taking home $3.1M. Post time is 5:57p.

The idea is to encourage conversations. I’m sure glad I hung on to my pager from the late 90’s, I can’t wait to start using that again.
